19-year-old man charged with murder for shooting deaths of father, son at Auburn bus stop

KENT, Wash. -- A 19-year-old man was charged Monday with two counts of second-degree murder in the drive-by shooting deaths of a father and son at a bus stop in Auburn last Tuesday night.

Bail was set at $2 million for Froilan Hermenegildo, who was also charged with first-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle. He remains in jail and will be arraigned Nov. 5.

Hermenegildo is accused of fatally shooting Angel Mireles, 19, and his stepfather, Mark Rivera, 41, at the bus stop from a stolen car. He is accused of also firing at Rivera's 13-year-old son, who was not injured.

A 16-year-old girl, who was arrested with Hermenegildo, was charged Monday in Juvenile Court with rendering criminal assistance and taking a motor vehicle without permission.

Hermenegildo is allegedly a member of the Rancho San Pedro street gang.

Police have not said what motive, if any, the defendant had in shooting at the family.
