Two men shot in the street in West Seattle neighborhood



SEATTLE -- Detectives are searching for answers after two men were gunned down in West Seattle's High Point neighborhood.

Several neighbors reported shots fired on the 6900 block of 23rd Avenue SW just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

When officers arrived, they found two men in the street with gunshot wounds.

Paramedics say one of the victims died at the scene. The other was taken to Harborview with serious, life-threatening injuries.

At this point, detectives have not determined if the victims knew their attacker, or what events led up to the shooting.

Late Saturday morning, one suspect was arrested in connection with the case. Investigators have not revealed further details.

Seattle Police Department's Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
