Woman on fire jumps out of building during 2-alarm Bellingham blaze

BELLINGHAM -- Emergency crews are investigating after a woman on fire jumped out of a two-story house fire Friday morning in Bellingham.

Crews were called to the 2-alarm fire around 6 a.m.  in the 3700 block of Beal Street. A woman at the scene was transported to to a hospital with burns sustained in the fire, officials said.





According to the Bellingham Herald, neighbors called fire crews after hearing a woman scream and watching her jump from the window while on fire. The woman, in her late 20s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Her boyfriend also went to Harborview for treatment of smoke inhalation, the Herald reported.

At least four people were in the house at the time of the fire.
