Police release dashcam video after downtown Seattle officer-involved shooting

SEATTLE -- Detectives are investigating an early morning officer-involved shooting that left a 25-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the hand, Seattle police said.

Around 3 a.m. Tuesday, Seattle police officers were called to a report of a man waiving a gun near 5th Avenue and Madison Street. When police arrived a short distance away at 2nd Avenue and Spring Street, they found a man brandishing a gun, officers said.

Officers allegedly ordered the man to drop his weapon. They then fired an unknown number of shots, hitting the man in the hand.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. It was not immediately known if the man was to be arrested following his discharge from the hospital.
