Pierce County man sentenced to 22 years for pimping, child rape

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) — A Pierce County man convicted of pimping and raping underage girls has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.

The Kitsap Sun reports (http://goo.gl/J3y08c ) 33-year-old Ricky Lee Grundy Jr. was sentenced in Kitsap Superior Court Friday.

He pleaded guilty in August to human trafficking, promoting sexual abuse of a minor and three counts of child rape.

The victims were 14 and 15 years old.

Prosecutors said previously it's the most serious human trafficking case they've handled.

Grundy kept rooms at hotels in Tacoma and Bremerton. Court documents say the girls were assaulted if they disobeyed Grundy.

Prosecutors say the girls were runaways, and Grundy, a meth dealer, would provide them with the drug.

Grundy declined to make a statement before sentencing.
