Police seek witnesses after man nearly beaten to death in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Wash. -- A local mother is demanding answers after she says multiple men nearly beat her son to death Sunday night outside a bar in Aberdeen. Police are hoping someone out there has the clues to help them solve this case.

"I just want my son to wake up and be okay," said Jacob's mother Chelli Woods.

24-year-old Jacob Woods remains unconscious at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

"The cat scan shows tube force -- a bat or something used on him," Chelli said. "He has blood on his left side of his brain and three skull fractures and a neck fractures ... blood in his right lung and he has now developed pneumonia."

Investigators do not have much to go on, saying witnesses tell conflicting stories.

"He's got a very big heart and that might be what got him in this situation," said Chelli.

His family is sharing information on social media using #JusticeForJake. A fundraising page has been set up to help with his recovery.

"I just want to see them pay for what they did to my son."

Doctors are keeping Jacob sedated in the ICU until they can get the swelling in his brain under control.

Detectives are asking anyone who was there that night or with information or video to come forward.
