Man dies in car in Kent with gunshot wound in upper torso

KENT, Wash. --  Kent police said Thursday they were investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found inside a car with a gunshot wound in the upper torso.

Police said the incident began with a 911 call. Police officers responded to the 300 block of Central Avenue South for the report of a man in car who was unconscious with labored breathing. The 911 callers were attempting CPR on the man when officers arrived, police said.

Fire Department medics took over CPR efforts, but the man died, police said.

"As officers investigated the incident, a single gunshot wound in the upper torso of the victim was discovered," police said in a news release.

No suspects were identified and the police investigation continues into whether it was a murder or a suicide.
