Police: Man injured, power outage reported in early morning shooting

EVERETT, Wash. -- Police are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting that put one man in the hospital and reportedly had a hand in knocking out power in an Everett neighborhood.

Officers received calls around 4:15 a.m. of a shooting in the 6000 block of Kenwood Drive, Everett police said. As officers arrived, they were told that the power in the neighborhood of the shooting was knocked out after a car collided with a transformer.

Police learned that during the morning gunfire, a man in his 30's was shot and taken to the hospital by an unknown witness. His condition was not immediately known.

Officers did not immediately find any suspects, but found a Chevy Impala had crashed into an electrical transformer. The driver fled before police got there, officers said, but it is believed they were involved in the shooting.

Detectives are investigating the shooting.
