FUGITIVES WANTED IN SEATAC —
Retired SeaTac Navy Veteran Larry Aycock who was scammed by thieves out of thousands of dollars has a new driveway thanks to Integrity Construction’s Josh Harris and Cascade Mobile Mix in Graham.
Volunteer crews poured the concrete Monday morning.
“That driveway is looking finer than frog’s hair isn’t it?” asked Aycock.
Josh Harris saw our story about Aycock getting ripped off by bogus landscapers who took his $3700 and then never showed up to repair the roots pushing up the concrete and offered to do the $9,000 job for free.
"It's not about the money. It's about taking care of one another,” said Harris. Aycock is thrilled. "I see this driveway and I'm grinning like a possum eating a persimmon,” he laughingly said.
He has good reason to be happy. SeaTac Det. Robin Fry has arrested one suspect and is hot on the trail of the other, Tina George.
From the start, she envisioned arresting both of the crooks but “envisioning the good heart that gets Larry a new driveway...that's bonus,” she said.
She’s hoping someone spots George and calls in a tip to find her but thinks the community reaction has already been wonderful.
"He was taken advantage of but the brighter side of this is the kindness that came out of this and the good people that stepped up,” said Det. Fry calling Harris a superhero.
Harris just wants others to see there are opportunities everywhere to do something good.
"You know anybody can do it. You don't have to have a construction company. You don't have to have a lot of money. Sometimes it's as simple as mowing your neighbor’s lawn or trimming his hedges or giving him a ride somewhere. Something simple like that goes along way,” said Harris.
Aycock showed his appreciation for everything by drawing a heart in the wet cement with Harris’ initials in it.
“The Lord is good and I got a beautiful driveway,” he said.
Aycock still needs some new carpet and other work around his house. There’s a fundraising page for those who would like to help.
