Police: Man shot by his brother at West Seattle apartment

SEATTLE -- A 19-year-old man has been arrested, for allegedly shooting his brother in the chest, at an apartment building in the West Seattle Junction.

Seattle police and paramedics were called to the 4800 block of California Ave. SW just before midnight on Saturday.

When they arrived, first responders found a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest in the apartment building's hallway.

He was still conscious when they got there, and told investigators his brother had shot him.

Officers later located a loaded handgun, and a shell casing,  inside the apartment.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he underwent surgery, but his condition has not been released.

His brother has been booked into the King County Jail.
