Man, 18, charged in accidental shooting death of his friend

SPANAWAY, Wash. (AP) — Pierce County prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old man with manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of his friend.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports that Isaac Nettles was charged Monday with first-degree manslaughter. Authorities say he shot his friend in the head Saturday afternoon while showing off a revolver he had just bought legally for $50.

Pierce County sheriff's detective Lynelle Anderson says Nettles was horsing around with the gun when it fired and hit his 18-year-old friend, Alatino Bolden of Spanaway.

Court records show that Nettles had emptied four rounds out of the gun, but didn't realize that another bullet was in the chamber.
