18-year-old arrested after boy, 15, injured in drive-by

EVERETT, Wash. -- Sheriff's deputies arrested a 18-year-old man Sunday night after he allegedly shot and injured a 15-year-old boy in a drive-by shooting.

Around 10:30 p.m., deputies were called to the intersection of 112th Street SW and 4th Avenue West with reports of a drive-by shooting, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said. A 15-year-old boy was found shot a short distance away.

The boy was taken to the Harborview Regional Medical Center Sunday where he remains is in stable condition, police said.

Deputies arrested a 18-year-old suspect near the intersection of Center Road and Admiralty Way a short-time later. A rifle was found in his vehicle, deputies said, and both driver's side windows were shot out.

The suspect was booked into Snohomish County Jail on first-degree assault and drive-by shooting charges.

Deputies continue to investigate the shooting.
