Tacoma man accused of Puyallup shooting spree booked into jail on homicide charge

TACOMA -- A 34-year-old Tacoma man accused of a shooting rampage in Puyallup that left a man dead was booked into the Pierce County Jail for homicide Friday.

Nathan Terault is suspected of killing Richard Johsnon, 71, of Puyallup during a car prowl incident Tuesday and then going on an eight-minute rampage, shooting at houses and cars and speeding off in a stolen SUV.

Police chased him over a two-mile area. When he stopped, an officer was able to shoot him in the leg and another officer pinned him to the ground with a patrol car.

Terault had been in the hospital under guard since his arrest Tuesday.
