Crews rescue woman trapped inside charity donation box

SEATTLE — Seattle fire crews rescued a woman who was stuck inside a charity donation box near Georgetown.

The Seattle Fire Department says crews were called to the site at about 4:30 a.m. Monday on a report that a woman was trapped inside the 4-foot by 6-foot donation box.

The 26-year-old woman says she crawled inside to gather clothes, but her leg got stuck in the anti-theft mechanism when she tried to climb out.

The Technical Rescue Team used heavy tools to pry the mechanism open.

Once out, she declined medical treatment. No word on whether she'll face any charges.
