Meteor, plane or something else? Graham woman snaps curious pics

GRAHAM, Wash. -- We've become so accustomed to seeing moving things in the sky, only rarely does something make us stop and ask:

"Huh?"

But Donna Z. out of Graham, Washington had the Q13 FOX Newsroom in disagreement when she sent pictures in of two objects she snapped in the sky Tuesday morning.

Donna said she took the photos of the curious objects over her house around 8:50 a.m.  According to Donna, the objects moved faster than any plane she'd ever seen.

"It fell what looked to be straight down and disappeared behind the tree line rather quick," Donna said. "It was faster than any plane I've seen traveling over us and no sound."

Q13 FOX Meteorologists M.J. McDermott and Walter Kelley weren't sure if they had enough to go on in the few pictures to determine what the object was, though Kelley believed it was likely a plane and McDermott thought perhaps something else. So we put the question out to well-known amateur astronomer John Angell out of Granite Falls.

Angell said it likely wasn't a meteor, but anything is possible.

"(It's) Possibly space junk.... a meteor more than likely would have a single streak - notice two streaks..... Also.... could be only a partial contrail ... possibly because of an area where there was a greater amount of moisture in the air at this point.  The "streak" was there long enough for someone to think about & take a pic..... Meteors normally do not leave streaks that long (time wise that it is viewable).... but anything is really possible!!"

Anything IS possible. What do you think?
