LEAVITTSBURG, Ohio — A reporter covering a house fire in Ohio was surprised when a woman on live television accused a family member of starting the fire.
WBKN reports the fire started in a garage, then spread to a second garage and damaged two homes.
A TV reporter covering the fire asked resident Heather Tenney what happened.
“I opened the door and saw this blazing from the garage. I woke up my husband and we got out as fast as we could,” Tenney told WBKN. “I had him move the cars out-of-the-way and go back inside and get the dogs.”
The reporter then asked if she knew how the fire may have started.
“It was cause of my cousin and I don’t want to mention no names,” she said. “He is mad because he can’t get with me. I am married to my husband. It’s a long story, just to make it short. He already put him in the hospital once last month. And he figured he’s gonna do something else to get back.”
Investigators said the fire appears suspicious and they do have a person of interest in the case, but so far no charges have been filed.
