Real estate agent discovers man and baby dead, woman injured in home near Bellingham

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. — A real estate agent found two people dead and a third person injured Sunday inside a home near Bellingham. Sheriffs say it appears to be a case of domestic violence.

According to Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo, a man and a 15 month old baby were found dead. A woman who lived with them was still alive. She admitted to killing the two, then turning the gun on herself.

Deputies are trying to determine whether the woman was the biological mother of the child. She was transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Bellingham. Hospital officials would not release details on her condition Sunday night.

Deputies say the real estate agent was preparing to show the house in the 5000 block of Noon Road Sunday afternoon, when he made the gruesome discovery. He denied Q13 Fox’s request for an interview.

Sheriff Elfo said investigators believe the shooting may have happened a couple of days ago. They do not know if the woman or family had a history of domestic violence.

The investigation is ongoing.
