Brush fire forces campers to evacuate in central Washington
QUINCY, Wash. -- A brush fire along Interstate 90 near George forced evacuations Sunday afternoon.
According to the Grant County Sheriff's Office, the fire broke out along I-90 near milepost 143, Silica Road.
Authorities said all campers were evacuated from the Old Vantage Highway area and nobody was at risk.
WSDOT closed I-90 for several hours, but the interstate was back open just before 8 p.m.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
