Troopers: Woman hit, killed on I-90 while trying to help in crash

ISSAQUAH -- A woman was hit and killed in the HOV lane of Interstate 90 Wednesday after witnessing a collision, and trying to cross the freeway to help.

According to Washington State Patrol Troopers, the woman witnessed a crash around 10 a.m. where westbound I-90 intersects with State Route 900. The woman tried to run across the freeway when she was hit.

Rescue teams pronounced the woman dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The left two lanes of I-90 westbound are closed as troopers investigate the crash. Traffic backed up for some time.
