Rapper 50 Cent told to pay $5 million to woman who sued over posting of sex tape online

NEW YORK (AP) — Someone else's sex tape is proving to be costly for rapper-actor 50 Cent.

A New York jury on Friday ordered him to pay $5 million to a woman who said he acquired a video she made with her boyfriend, added himself as a crude commentator and posted it online without her permission.

They're set to deliberate next week on possible further, punitive damages in Lastonia Leviston's invasion-of-privacy lawsuit against the "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" rapper.

One of his lawyers, William Brewer III, says they're disappointed in the verdict.

Leviston's lawyer, Philip Freidin, declined to comment.

The rapper said he didn't actually post the video but that Leviston's then-boyfriend said Leviston wouldn't mind if it were posted.

Leviston said she was horrified and humiliated when it appeared online in 2009.
