Join 'Freedom Walk' next Saturday to help 'Genesis Project' fight sex trafficking

SEATAC -- Next Saturday you have an opportunity to participate in something that's extremely important to Parella Lewis and myself -- fighting sex trafficking across the state and Pacific Northwest. Members of the SeaTac Police Department run an organization called "The Genesis Project,” a shelter to house victims of human trafficking which is the fastest growing crime in the world that worsens at record rates here in our area. So, next Saturday the Genesis Project is asking you to join them in their 4th annual "Freedom Walk” along Pacific Highway. "We march the road here, International Boulevard, which is symbolic of what the girls walk that we try to serve that get trafficked all up and down Pacific Highway from Snohomish County to Pierce County,” says SeaTac Police Officer Andy Connor. “So, we’re going to walk a section of that and along the walk participants are going to get a story of one of the girls who’s come through the Genesis Project. At each water station you’re going to get a snippet of her story until you come full around to the end of the 5K and you get to find out where she’s at today and how she’s doing and what she's doing here at the Genesis Project.” The Freedom Walk starts at 10am.
