Law enforcement: Please stop asking Siri to call 112

SNOHOMISH COUNTY -- Multiple local law enforcement agencies are asking the public to stop telling the iPhone personal assistant Siri to call Europe's emergency call number, 112, as it dials 911 instead.

Both Lake Stevens Police and the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office tweeted Thursday, asking people stop participate in this "prank."

Other agencies across the country reported the same problem, saying two popular social media pranks are the culprit for the calls.

In the last week alone, Winnebago County, Wisonsin, has reported 219, 911 hang up calls.
