Man used Seahawks' names to get illegal prescription drugs
SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A Spokane Valley man has been sentenced to six months in jail for faking on-the-job injuries and using the last names of Seattle Seahawks players to obtain prescription drugs.
KREM-TV reports that Jeffory Leonard Mock plead guilty in April to four felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. He was sentenced Wednesday.
The judge also ordered Mock to repay the eight Spokane hospitals and clinics he scammed. That amount is estimated to be about $17,500.
He's accused of filing claims using variations on his first name or another first name that usually started with "j."
For the last name, he typically signed the surname of a Seattle Seahawk or another pro ball player or coach. The borrowed names include Sherman, Okung, Harvin, Largent, Marino and Bledsoe.
