Metal thieves target Little League ballpark, steal bleachers

SNOHOMISH, Wash. -- Metal thieves may have hit a new low after stealing bleachers from the North Snohomish Little League ball field.

The theft happened Saturday night and was discovered the next day by league volunteers.

"It's about taking dreams from little kids," said league board member Tonya Olds.

Olds said the cost to replace the stolen bleachers is close to $1,200. She was also considering installing security cameras to keep watch over the property.

"This couldn't have come at a worse time, we're right now hosting district competition," she said.

Detectives from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office are investigating the theft.
