Driver pulled over by trooper runs into traffic, is struck and killed by another car

SEATAC, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a driver who was pulled over by a trooper near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was struck and killed after running into traffic.

Trooper Chris Webb says it happened late Saturday night after a trooper pulled the car over for a traffic stop, and the driver, a 38-year-old man from Tukwila, got out of the car and ran into the westbound lanes of State Route 518 where it intersects with State Route 99. The fleeing driver was then struck by another car whose driver was uninjured.

Webb says the driver had an arrest warrant from out of state, but it's not clear if that's why he ran. The agency is still investigating.
