Large fire at Tacoma Marina visible during U.S. Open Championship

TACOMA – Firefighters battled a fire at the Tacoma Narrows Marina on Saturday afternoon.

The fire started in the Aarons Marine Services small boat house and could be seen by spectators and golfers at the US Open at Chambers Bay.

According to the Tacoma Fire department 12-20 small boats were in the boathouse.  They were able to save many other larger boats that were on the property.

No one was injured in the fire.
