ER doctor restricted after female patient complains

SEATTLE (AP) — A Seattle emergency doctor's medical license has been restricted following allegations he inappropriately touched a female patient's breast during an exam.

The Seattle Times reports that Dr. Marc Di Julio has to use a chaperone when he treats female patients until the issue is resolved.

The state Medical Quality Assurance Commission announced the restriction in a statement this week.

The charges claim the doctor touched the patient's breasts when she came to an emergency room on January 14 reporting leg and back pain.

Di Julio told the commission that "at no time was anything other than professional interest involved."

He has 20 days to respond to the charges and request a hearing.
