Bellevue cops pick up chicken-hungry beaver, escort it home

BELLEVUE -- A police cruiser, a lost beaver and a Chick-fil-A restaurant.

We'll take, "The start of a bad joke" for $300, Alex.

A Bellevue police officer was called to the Chick-fil-A Restaurant in the 700 block of 116th Avenue NE Bellevue with reports of a beaver wandering around the parking lot.

Yep, a beaver -- the animal -- in a parking lot.

Somehow, according to police, the officer managed to coral the chicken-hungry critter into his patrol car and give it a ride back to its lodge.

Of course, jokes were abound on Twitter following the report.

"The waffle fries are good," one commenter said.

There's no official word on if the beaver got some chicken to munch on. Our take, though? How else would the officer lure him into the car?
