Deputies hope public can help identify woman whose remains found in suitcase



KENT -- Sheriff's deputies are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman whose remains were found in a suitcase near the Green River.

The remains were discovered in an empty lot on May 28 in a suitcase off Frager Road South near Kent, deputies said. Deputies sent the remains to the King County Medical Examiner's Office, but she was not identified.

According to Kent police, the woman is described as Asian or Native American, believed to be between 50-60 years old with a small build. She was about 5'4" tall and 106 pounds. Her hair was black in color with gray streaks and was shoulder length. The victim wore full dentures but none were recovered.  She was wearing sleeping type clothes, a purple, short sleeve shirt with flowers, and an adult diaper. She had no injuries, was described as being properly nourished, but had Cirrhosis of the liver.

She also had no scars, marks, or tattoos, police said.

The cause of her death was not known. Deputies said the remains are not that old.
