3 people hit by gunfire in northeast Portland



PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say three people have been hit by gunfire in northeast Portland.

A fire department official says three young adults — two men and a woman — were taken to a hospital Thursday evening. Fire Lt. Damon Simmons says they have "noncritical injuries."

He says officers assigned to a section of Northeast Alberta Street for the Last Thursday event heard multiple gunshots in the area shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Police have closed off a section of Alberta Street as part of the crime scene.Last Thursday is a monthly community festival in the Alberta neighborhood with vendors and musicians.
