'Nobody deserves to be burned alive': Homeless man set on fire dies 75 days later

PARKLAND, Wash. -- A homeless man who was set on fire in March died Monday night -- 75 days after the horrific act. His brothers pleaded Tuesday night for the public's help in finding the killer.

Daniel Dunn's family said 46-year-old Daniel suffered for 75 days until he passed away.

"When I found out that somebody did this to him, I thought to myself, nobody deserves to be burned alive," Daniel's brother, James Dunn, said in an interview with Q13 FOX News.

"For somebody to do this to a nice guy -- and everybody around here knew him, and they knew that's a good person," brother Alfred Dunn said.

On March 12, Daniel was found ablaze outside a business in Parkland.  Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Daniel had been taken to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center after employees from two nearby fast-food restaurants saw Daniel covered in flames, put out the fire and called 911.

Police say they likely saved his life at the time, but Daniel suffered extreme burn injuries all over his body.

"He suffered for 75 days, the last days of his life," James Dunn said.

Investigators say the man told one person that someone set him on fire.

"I want justice, no matter how long it takes to find him, the person, I just want justice to be served and some closure," James Dunn said.
