ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) — Police in Astoria, Oregon, say a missing California teenager has turned up at a local fast-food restaurant, and they're seeking a Washington state man they've labeled a "suspected abductor."

Police said the 15-year-old girl reported at a McDonald's restaurant Monday night that she had been abducted.

A police statement Tuesday said she was listed as missing from her home in Sanger, California, and the FBI joined the search for her.

The statement didn't say how she went missing. Calls to authorities in Astoria and Sanger were not immediately returned.

The man was identified as 48-year-old Russell Wayne Deviney of Everett, Washington. Police said he walked from the restaurant, and his 2004 pickup truck has been located. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, black sweater and an orange baseball hat.

The girl was placed in protective custody until her parents could come to Oregon.
