Police: Man who pulled gun on trooper found by K9

GORST -- A man who allegedly pulled a gun on a Washington State Patrol trooper during a routine traffic stop was found by a police K9 nearly an hour after he fled from officers.

According to the Kitsap Sun, a state trooper pulled over a man driving a Chevrolet pickup around 8 a.m. in Port Orchard. The man pulled a gun as the trooper approached the car and and sped away. A short chase ensued, until the man blew a tire and left the car.

A woman was riding with in the car, police said. She was apprehended when the tire on the vehicle blew, the Sun reported.

Bremerton police said the man, described as white with a black jacket, ran into Jarstad Park in Gorst after his tire blew. He was located by a police K9 in a shed a short time later and arrested.

Old Belfair Highway west of Sam Christoperson was closed during the K9 track, but has since been reopened.
