WATCH: Family of bears chase tourists across bridge at Yellowstone National Park

GARDINER, Mont. -- A family of black bears startled a group of tourists on a bridge in Montana, sending them running for their lives.

In the video posted by Montana FWP, you can see the wildlife spectators get too close to the bears as the mother bear and her cubs began chasing after them.

“Luckily, no one was hurt and these bears made it safely back to the forest,” according to Montana FWP.

Wildlife officials in Montana said this is an example of what NOT to do if you encounter a bear. They say it is never a good idea to run away because that triggers a predatory response from the bears.

According to the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Commission, you should always stay at least 100 yards away from a bear.

"It serves as a reminder that wildlife can be unpredictable," wildlife officials said. "For your safety and theirs, respect wildlife and give them room to roam. View and photograph from established observation areas. Stay a safe distance to reduce stress on wildlife."
