Police: Upset father with cattle prod assaulted man
BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — A Bellingham man is facing assault charges after allegedly poking another man with a cattle prod because he was dating his 25-year-old daughter.
The Bellingham Herald reports that 52-year-old Vincent Price Jones was arrested Tuesday, more than a month after Norman Gerstner reported the man for attacking him.
Police say Jones barged into the home Gerstner was sleeping at and pushed the cattle prod — a pressure-activated shocking device used to move livestock — into Gerstner's chest. He also reportedly picked up a knife and brandished it and at one point threatened to cut off a part of Gerstner's body.
Jones has no known criminal history. He is in Whatcom County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
