Employees find Japanese World War II grenade while sorting through Goodwill donations
According to the Port Orchard Police Department, employees called officers around 1:15 p.m. to say they had found a hand grenade in a box of donations. Police were called to the scene, and they evacuated the store.
A bomb squad was called in to investigate.
Port Orchard police said later that it was a Type 10 Japanese World War II grenade that they believe is still live.
The grenade was removed and the store was reopened.
The investigation is continuing.
