Video captures stage collapse at Indiana high school; more than 12 hurt

WESTFIELD, Ind. -- Authorities in central Indiana say more than a dozen people have been injured after a stage filled with students collapsed during a theater performance at a public high school.

Capt. Charles Hollowell of the Westfield Police Department said Thursday night that authorities don't have an exact number of injuries but are certain more than 12 were hurt. He says at least one person was critically injured after the stage gave way at Westfield High School.

No fatalities were reported.

FOX 59 reports a large group of students were on stage during the grand finale of "American Pie" when the stage gave way.

Chris Baldwin, who works in human resources for the high school, says regularly scheduled classes will meet Friday.



Westfield is about 20 miles north of Indianapolis.
