Watch 500 years of New York City history in a 47 second elevator ride

NEW YORK -- The time-lapse, panoramic animation will be seen on walls in elevators that service One World Trade Center's observatory.

It simulates how New York City looked from the year 1500 to today.

It'll cost you $32 to visit the 102nd floor observatory when it opens in late May.

The elevators operate at a top speed of 23 miles per hour.
