Sheriff: Shooter was served with protection order

BONNEY LAKE, Wash. (AP) — Officials in Pierce County say the man who killed his wife before fatally shooting himself had been served a protection order hours earlier.

The News Tribune reports that the medical examiner's office identified the couple on Sunday as David and Regina Annas.

Officials say a friend of Regina Annas was also shot, but she is recovering from her injuries.

A Pierce County Superior Court judge had granted a temporary protection order on Friday and the shooting occurred late Friday night.

Regina Annas wrote in court records that she wanted a divorce. She said her husband was nice one minute, but when she got ready to move on, he got very mean. She said when he did that, she was afraid he would hurt her.
