Suspect identified in Bellevue murder; may have fled state

BELLEVUE, Wash. – A suspect in a murder in downtown Bellevue has been identified, but he may no longer be in the state.

Bellevue Police announced Saturday night that they had issued a felony warrant for 30-year-old Song Wang in connection with the murder of a woman in a sixth floor unit at the Avalon Maydenbauer Apartments on NE 2nd Street. The woman’s body was found by firefighters on Tuesday night, who were responding to a fire in the woman’s apartment. That fire is believed to be arson.

BPD spokesperson Ofc. Seth Tyler said that Wang may now be in Oregon, but anyone who sees him should consider him armed and dangerous. He’s described as an Asian male, 5-8 and 160 pounds.

The murder is the first of the year in Bellevue.

Anyone who may know Wang’s exact location is asked to call 911.
