Police search Port Orchard home in case of mobile home park killings

BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) — The Kitsap County sheriff's office says detectives are searching a Port Orchard home and an impounded vehicle as they investigate the killings of a 29-year-old woman and her roommate's child at a mobile home park over the weekend.

Sgt. Ken Dickinson said Tuesday that no one is in custody for the slayings and that investigators are working to determine the suspect.

Heather Kelso and her roommate's 2-year-old son, Kaden Lum, were fatally shot in their home at a mobile home park in Bremerton, across Puget Sound from Seattle.

In an interview with Q13 FOX News, the parents of a 2-year-old boy shot to death by an unknown gunman said Monday they can’t understand how they could have lost their innocent son in such a tragic way.

A man who was wounded in the early Saturday shooting is expected to recover. He's been interviewed by detectives.

The Kitsap County coroner's office said Tuesday the deaths were ruled homicides but declined to release other details because of the investigation.
