Lineup unveiled for April 23 'We Day' in Seattle; 15,000 students to attend

SEATTLE -- 'We Day' is coming back to Seattle for the third year in a row.

Thousands of students from Washington will pack KeyArena to hear from inspirational speakers and celebrities.

On Tuesday morning, local students were on hand to hear this year's all-star lineup.

Students gathered at Big Picture Middle School in Burien and were joined on Skype by students at two other local schools -- and a special guest.

"Today we're here to announce the lineup of the talent that's gonna show up at the great event," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said.

The lineup includes four-time boxing champion Laila Ali; eight-time Olympic medalist Apolo Ohno; members of the Sounders, including Clint Dempsey, Obafemi Martins and head coach Sigi Schmid; and 'Free the Children' founders Craig and Marc Kielburger.

"If you can't get excited about this," Carroll said, "the Seattle Seahawks will be there."

Specifically, those promised include wide receiver Doug Baldwin, tight end Luke Willson and linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Each student is tasked with doing one thing to help their local community and one thing to help the global community.

"Even if it's something really small, that's still making a difference to someone," said seventh-grader Shaunna Horlick.

More than 500 schools are taking part, doing everything from helping the homeless to building clean water wells in other countries.

So, on April 23, about 15,000 students from across Washington state will join together at KeyArena to not only be inspired, but to inspire each other ... to make a change in the world.
