Police: Firefighter in custody after allegedly holding other firefighters hostage inside fire station



MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pennsylvania --A firefighter was taken into custody after police said he allegedly took four other firefighters hostage with a gun inside a firehouse in suburban Philadelphia according to multiple accounts by local media.

WPVI-TV reported that police were called to the Lamott Fire House in Cheltenham Pennsylvania just before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday.

The Cheltenham Police chief confirmed to WPVI that an armed person was inside the fire station for roughly an hour and holding the firefighters hostage.

Police told WPVI the firefighter had been in some kind of dispute with the fire company.
