Report: Victim shot in head in apparent carjacking in Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- A driver was shot in the head in an apparent carjacking in Mount Vernon Monday night, and the suspect fled in the victim's car, BreakingSkagit.com news reported.

The shooting happened at 3rd and Montgomery at the Pacific Pride Fuel Station, BreakingSkagit said. The victim was shot inside the vehicle.

No other information was immediately available.

BreakingSkagit said the gunman then fled in the victim's car, described as a black 1996 Toyota Camry with white wheels.

The Skagit County Sheriff's Office would only confirm that there had been a shooting at 3rd and Montgomery.
