Detectives seize car, search for clues after armed robbery in Seattle park

SEATTLE -- Investigators are searching a car for clues and a possible link to an armed robbery early Monday morning in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood.

According to police, three people were hanging out in Kerry Park around 2:00 a.m. when two masked suspects approached them. The suspects, who had handkerchiefs over their faces, were armed with handguns and demanded all the victims' wallets and one person's cell phone.

Detectives said the suspects ordered the victims to run and then fired a shot in the air, before fleeing to a silver Honda.

Patrol officers later stopped a silver Honda nearby, but police said the victims could not confirm if the driver and passenger were the robbery suspects.

Investigators consulted with the department's cell phone tracking expert, but the victim's phone could not be located.

Police seized the vehicle and robbery detectives will begin searching it for evidence.
