CAUGHT ON CAM: Did the driver of this Jeep just ESCAPE a tow truck?!?

CHICAGO, Illinois — A video on YouTube purports to show one Chicago driver who really did not want to have his truck towed.

WGN-TV first published the video Monday.

According to user Tony Marengo, the incident occurred near a Walgreens parking lot at Clark and Ontario. The video shows a white Jeep being loaded  on to a tow truck.

However a driver was clearly still inside. A few moments into the footage, the Jeep breaks free, and speeds off down the road.

“We are used to seeing cars get towed out of the Walgreens lot next door with lightning speed (Clark & Ontario). Usually NOT WITH A PERSON IN THE CAR, though,” Marengo wrote in the video’s caption.

The video is titled “Tow Truck ESCAPE River North Chicago” and it was uploaded Sunday. It currently has nearly 5,000 views.

“The whole scene was crazy,” Marengo wrote in the comments section.

Many commenters came to the driver’s defense,

“Good for that guy,” wrote one user.

“That guy is my hero now!” wrote another.
