Man who killed grandparents dies in prison
WALLA WALLA, Wash. (AP) — An inmate at the Washington State Penitentiary who was serving a life sentence for strangling his grandparents has died.
The Department of Corrections says Michael Chadd Boysen died March 18. Authorities say Boysen lost consciousness when he returned to his cell after taking a shower. Prison staff attempted to revive him but he was pronounced dead.
Boysen's death is being investigated.
Boysen, 28, had served 16 months of a life sentence without the possibility of parole for two first-degree murder convictions in King County.
Boysen strangled and robbed his grandparents at their Renton home in 2013. Robert Taylor, 82, and Norma Taylor, 80, were killed after they picked up their grandson following his completion of a previous prison sentence for robbery.
