Former Husky, Seahawks TE Jerramy Stevens formally charged with DUI

LOS ANGELES -- A former NFL player and the husband of soccer star Hope Solo was charged Monday in connection with a DUI arrest in Manhattan Beach earlier this year, KTLA reported.

Jerramy Ryan Stevens was charged with one misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of alcohol within 10 years of another DUI offense and driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content within 10 years of another DUI offense, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Stevens, 35, a former tight end with the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was arrested on Jan. 19 after police allegedly spotted him driving with his headlights off near Rosecrans Avenue and Redondo Avenue, the release stated.

Police said that Solo, the goalkeeper for the U.S. national soccer team, was in the van at the time.

Because Stevens refused a chemical blood or breath test, officers had to obtain a search warrant to get a blood sample, according to the DA’s Office.

The sample showed a blood alcohol concentration above .15 percent.

Steven had a 2007 DUI conviction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

He is set to be arraigned Thursday. If convicted, he faces a possible maximum sentence of one year in county jail.
