1 woman dead after car plunges into Hood Canal



SHELTON -- Sheriff's deputies and other law enforcement said one person that was trapped in a car that plunged into the Hood Canal Tuesday afternoon had died.

According to the Mason County Sheriff's Office, one person was seen trapped in the car submerged in the water of State Route 101 near Potlatch around 12:30 p.m.

State troopers also responded to the scene.





Around 12:50 p.m., sheriff's deputies tweeted that one woman had been removed from the car, and that CPR was in progress.



The woman was later pronounced dead, Washington State Patrol Troopers said.
