Storage unit break-in on Aurora leads to 2 arrests, 9 stolen guns

SEATTLE – A sharp-eyed man seeing his storage unit being broken into led to the arrest of two men and the recovery of numerous stolen items, including nine guns.

Seattle Police Det. Patrick Michaud said that officers were called to a complex on the 2200 block of Aurora Avenue N. around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. A man had called 911, saying that his storage unit was being broken into. When they arrived, they found two men still inside the unit, and quickly arrested them.

The suspects had bags with items stolen from other recent break-ins with them, Michaud said. One of the bags contained nine guns, including a .32 pistol, a black powder rifle and an M1 Garand. That meant extra charges for one of the suspects, who Michaud said was a convicted felon.

Both men were booked into the King County Jail. Michaud said that the process of getting the stolen items back to their owners.
